Grant Awards Ceremony
Commissioner Sam Adams will be present to congratulate the winners and APNBA will present the checks for both the BDA grants and the first round of Association grants at the January 22nd APNBA meeting at the Ambridge Event Center, 300 NE Multnomah, from 5:30 - 8:30PM. Catered dinner is $17.00.

BDA winners are posted on the
Grants page. Association grants winners will be posted by mid January. Recipients are encouraged to bring their own cheering section. An RSVP is expected.
Graffiti Report
Graffiti Abatement Coordinator Marcia Dennis published a number of images of graffiti and a list of vandals arrested lately in the December issue of the Graffiti Task Force E-Newsletter. For a copy, email Marcia at mdennis@ci.portland.or.us or call 503.823.5860.

Second round of grants
The schedule for the second round of grants starts with an orientation on Tuesday, February 6th 7:00 - 8:00PM at Friendship Masonic Center, 57th and Sandy. Because we couldn't fund a number of excellent requests under the current rules, we are changing the grant criteria and requirements. Plan to attend this orientation with your questions.

Neighborhood Town Halls
City Commissioner Sam Adams is hosting a series of budget town hall meetings for the City agencies that he oversees; the Transportation, Environmental Services and Regional Arts & Culture Council. Town Halls will be held at neighborhood offices and high schools across Portland. To find your neighborhood town hall, go to www.commissionersam.com and read the article Commissioner Adams Hosts Town Halls.

Business Income Tax
The City Council meets January 18th to discuss Commissioner Adam's proposed changes to the current BIT laws. Plan to be there and sign up to speak. Every citizen gets three minutes - make your opinion count. The exact time will be published closer to the date.

Time to get graded
The APNBA will soon publish a short survey asking your opinion about our communications - the web site, Business Voice, and News Source. We need to know their strengths and weaknesses, and their opportunities for improvement.

The link to the survey will be published in both the Voice and the News Source. Please respond promptly and candidly. We won't change them much if you approve of them as is, but why do all this work if we aren't meeting your needs?
