District Events
Time to start planning your weekends. There are business district events happening in every part of the city during the next five months. This is the perfect opportunity to check out what the other districts are doing and how well they manage while also entertaining guests, delighting children, and enjoying yourselves.

The majority of events are free to the public, take place late morning to early evening, are family friendly, and have reasonable parking if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks.

Check the list at
apnba.com/events and go visit your neighbors across the river, the freeway or the mountain. The events for the current month are always listed at the bottom of the newsletter.

82nd Avenue Parade
The parade was a great success with the spectators who held up cards grading all the entrants as "10". There were the requisite princesses, a color guard, music, a dancing dragon, a banjo playing potato, fire engines, volunteers manning the barriers, and of course, the police who saw to it that everything moved smoothly across 82nd at Powell and Division as well as all the other intersections.

Definitely worth repeating. Plan to join them next year, either as a participant or a spectator.

visionPDX - next steps
visionPDX logo visionPDX is preparing their key findings and would like to talk to a small group of us about their next steps. They will be holding small group discussions May 21st--June 3rd, as well as some neighborhood open houses. They would like us to schedule some small group discussion about what they heard from the community and how they have organized those ideas and values. Each session would be for 5 - 15 people, take about 2 hours and be located in your district. They will facilitate and take notes.

If your business district wants to participate, schedule your date and place and contact Cassie Cohen, cassie.cohen@ci.portland.or.us, or call her at 503.823.9589 by May 11th.

Business Association Meet and Greet
June 25th 5:30-7:30 at the Jupiter Hotel

Join Commissioner Adams for a social get-together with your business colleagues. Sam and the directors of Portland Department of transportation (PDOT) and Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) want to talk to you about your district and how the city is working for you. The business liaison corps will be there to get to know you and your businesses. Your counterparts will be there to hear how business is going. So Join us and mingle.

Here is one of those rare chances to talk to a commissioner and tell him what two of his departments are and aren't doing. You can also talk about options to fix the problems in your district. This opportunity is too good to pass up. Come and bring your board.

Please RSVP to info@apnba.com by June 15.
